Walking through the Misiones rainforest at night reveals the sound of the water and a different light across the landscape. The Full Moon Walk on the Argentine side of Iguazu Falls is a guided experience separate from a daytime visit. Choose a date on its calendar before organising your other plans.
Check the route: the official description reviewed on 30 October 2026 uses the Upper Circuit. Older references to Devil’s Throat (guide in Spanish) do not describe the current programme. Moonlight and visibility depend on cloud cover; a clear night cannot be guaranteed.
IN DETAIL
📅 Updated Dates & Times Full Moon Walk
The official programme lists five nights per month and departures at 7:45, 8:30 and 9:15 pm, lasting about 2½ hours. Check the calendar and availability for your month; the astronomical full moon date alone does not confirm a departure.
Allow time to travel from Puerto Iguazú and return afterwards. The last daytime bus is not a useful assumption for a late return: check transport, meeting point and arrival instructions for your selected slot.
The operator announces a special Río Uruguay bus from Puerto Iguazú terminal on tour dates. Ask there for departures, return and frequency; no unconfirmed bus timetable is reproduced here.

How to book the Full Moon Walk
Choose a date and time through the official experience page. Keep your confirmation and check the check-in location. Discuss access and walking distances before paying if you need assistance.
You can also compare the Viator option. Check whether it includes return transport, which hotels it serves and the cancellation terms. A package name is not a substitute for its actual list of inclusions.
If you visit the park during the day, do not assume you can remain inside until the night tour. Arrange the transition and meeting point with staff. If the night is cancelled, check the terms of the channel through which you booked.

What is the Full Moon Walk like?
The official programme lists check-in at the entrance gateway and reception at Patio de Servicios. The Visitor Center (guide in Spanish) helps locate the entrance area; follow your confirmation for the actual meeting point and time.

The Ecological Jungle Train (guide in Spanish) takes the group from Central to Cataratas station; the walk continues along the Upper Circuit. Water sounds accompany the view from the walkways.
Take time to notice how the rainforest changes in low light. This is not a repeat of every daytime stop or a chance to wander the park independently. Stay with the group and follow instructions about lights and photography.
The return is part of the programme. Confirm the pickup point with your transport provider and leave a margin before any dinner plans. If you want to dine at Selva Restaurant, confirm its opening and reservation arrangements directly; do not assume dinner is included.
This video shows a past outing. The current programme may follow a different route; check the itinerary when booking.
