IN DETAIL

🚤 Boat Adventure at Iguazu Falls – An Unforgettable Experience

If you're looking for a truly unique experience at the Iguazu Falls, the Gran Aventura boat ride will take you through the jungle and then straight into the heart of the waterfalls. Perfect for those who want to feel the full force of the water and live an unforgettable adventure. In this guide, we explain how to book it, the prices, duration, and everything it includes.

IN DETAIL

Gran Aventura

Gran Aventura, operated by Iguazú Jungle, combines a rainforest trip with a motorboat ride. It differs from Paseo Ecológico, marked temporarily unavailable in the official offer checked on 30 October 2026. Check your chosen activity rather than assuming every operator programme is running.

Prices

ARS 100,000 per person, the Gran Aventura price displayed by Iguazú Jungle, checked on 30 October 2026. Park admission and city transfers are separate. Confirm the final total and the conditions of any eligible discount before paying.

Schedule

Combining it with the walkways: choose a departure before fixing the order of your circuits. Add time for park entry, reaching the meeting point and changing clothes afterwards. Check Devil’s Throat separately if you hope to walk it; a boat ticket does not open a closed circuit.

Choose an available departure for your date through the official sales channel. Allow time to enter the park and reach the meeting point; your booking confirmation should specify the departure time and reserved place. Operation depends on river and weather conditions.

IN DETAIL

What’s Included in the Gran Aventura Experience?

The programme has land and river stages. The Visitor Center — Spanish can help with orientation on arrival, but use the Gran Aventura meeting point and reporting time specified in your booking.

The first stage is a jungle journey along the Misiones rainforest — guide in Spanish aboard specially designed trucks, allowing visitors to explore the Atlantic Forest's rich biodiversity.

Bilingual guides accompany the tour, sharing insights about the local flora, fauna, and ecosystems of the Iguazú National Park.

Yacaratiá Trail

The Yacaratiá Trail leads to Porto Macuco, the embarkation point for the boat ride.

The rainforest route offers views of the vegetation from the vehicle. Butterflies, birds and other animals may appear, but sightings and particular species are not guaranteed.

Follow the guided route rather than entering the service trail independently.

After the forest journey, a demanding flight of stairs leads down to the boat dock. Consider the climb back as well as the descent, and discuss mobility or assistance needs with the operator before paying. Heat and humidity can make this part of the activity more demanding.

The Boat Ride

The boat follows the Lower Iguazú River, with rapids and approaches to the falls depending on navigation conditions.

The river offers a different perspective from the walkways. This is separate from the land route to Devil’s Throat — Spanish; boat approaches depend on navigation conditions.

The highlight is approaching the powerful San Martín Waterfall, where the boat gets close enough for passengers to be baptized by the mighty spray. 🌊

The boat returns downstream to Puerto Macuco. Allow for the climb up the stairs and the land transfer: the official programme returns to the excursion starting point, not to your hotel.

How Long Is the Iguazu Falls Boat Ride?

The full Gran Aventura experience lasts approximately 2 hours, according to the operator.

Waterproof bags to protect your personal belongings are provided before boarding the boat and are included in the tour price.

Tips for the Boat Adventure

  • Get ready to be completely soaked during the boat ride at Iguazu Falls. Bring dry clothes to change into after the tour.
  • Apply sunscreen before starting the excursion.
  • Use the provided waterproof bags to store phones, wallets, and other items. Otherwise, they will get wet during the "baptism" under the falls!

Who Cannot Join the Gran Aventura?

Minimum age: 12. The operator requires an original DNI or passport, not a copy or digital version. There are demanding stairs and boat movements. Pregnant travellers cannot participate; check other conditions in the official restrictions before purchasing.

Being able to walk the park’s trails does not establish whether this excursion is suitable. Discuss assistance needs, boarding and the operator’s instructions beforehand. Choose an appropriate activity before reaching the dock.
